Why are some fast and strong guys like Floyd Jr and Muhammad Ali not explosive?

All I can think of to exsplain this is that a puncher like Ali developes a lot of speed on his punch early through the first three quartes or so of the punch and then the speed max's out. And the punch gets from point A to B faster then a boxer like Forman. While Formans punches may be slower through the first three quarters of the punch they may be moving faster at the point of impact. Like others have mentioned some punches do not yeild at impact while others may yeild somewhat the fist, wrist, elbow, shoulder,back, hips, knees,ankles,feet all can yeild to the impact a little bit and end up absorbing some of the force of the blow.

If we agree when it comes to the difference between explsoive and heavy punching can we also say that one of the styles is better than the other?
