Most people I speak too, near enough everyone, scored the 3rd fight for Norton, those that think Ali won that fight are definitely in the minority Norton should of got the nod.

When suggested to him by a reporter that he looked like a man who had been beaten (post-fight) Ali responded with, "Yeah, I lost," in regards to the third Norton fight. I agree he lost two from three, & I believe he's going to have a lot of problems at any stage in his career with Norton, but he would probably win two of three if he was in his pomp.

The only fighter I would legitimately favour to beat Ali two-from-three would be Louis, & that, by a slim margin.

          I wont say his name...
you say he defeated every opponent he ever faced but it is the opponents he NEVER faced which is of concern and that list is very long indeed and don't forget to mention that he is the only world champion in boxing history to be stripped of every belt for refusing to fight the No1 contenders.

Liston at hw (apart from Ali) I would favour him against anyone in a h2h fight

You would favour Lewis to win all hw h2h match ups?

Interesting choice. In reading your post, I was trying to think which of the HW greats I would pick against Liston, playing the odds. You know, I could only come up with two names...

                  Muhammad Ali
                  Joe Louis

Of those two, I would give him a pretty good shot at beating Louis, too. Of course, there would be other, highly-dangerous matchings. Liston is only a fairly slight favourite (in my book) against Foreman & Holmes. He is even-money against Dempsey, & fights I would expect him to win but could prove upsetting include Jeffries, Tunney & Lewis.

Liston does very well, head-to-head, for mine.

I've seen the 3rd Ali vs Norton fight numerous times and scored it everytime for Ali.

This was a well past-it version of Ali, as well.

Norton's style gave Ali tremendous problems but a prime & fully motivated Ali bests Norton 3/3 times.

However, reading the opinions of posters online for quite some time about this fight, I would have to agree with NChristo, that those who gave Ali the nod are definitely in the minority. I did a poll not long ago and more people had Norton winning the 3rd fight. I'm not sure how accurate an assessment that is, as some might have not even seen the fight and voted on purely what they've heard about the fight.
