Quarry was the better fighter and he has the better record. Like Shavers, he failed to beat the best fighters of his generation though and suffered some disappointing losses.


Quarry notable wins : Lyle, Shavers, Thad Spencer, Mac Foster, Mathis, Patterson.

Shavers '' '' : Bugner, Ellis, Norton, Young.

That works for me. Unlike Shavers, Quarry never lost to any clubfighters when he was anywhere near his prime.

Quarry. Based on the fact that he beat Shavers and had better overall skills. Both had significant wins during their career. Shavers might have been the hardest punching heavyweight ever but he had a lot of flaws that would put him behind Quarry IMO.

Definitely Quarry. Shavers at his best was dangerous due to his ridiculous power, but Quarry was simply a better fighter with better wins.
