lol, I could never stand how that guy behaved in the ring. I loved how he threw his arms up trying to be ****y with Roy, Roy threw his up and then clocked him right on the chin setting him on his ass.

Funny thing is I usually hate fighters Like Vinny. I like the guys who are quiet and respectful. But being from RI we don't have much to cheer for when it comes to world class fighters. On top of that he was a great guy in the gym. He always had time to help the amateurs and was always encouraging.

Little known fact: in the late 80's and early 90's Pazienza was the second biggest live draw to only Mike Tyson.

No one is unbeatable and I think Liston, Foreman and Ali would have given Tyson fits. And I certainly wouldn't count out Holyfield either.
You do realise before he faced Schmeling he had already beaten Baer and Carnera who where 2 former Heavyweight World Champions? your right with the flaws thing which everyone has in their prime but eventually improve...but never the less Joe Louis was in his prime when he lost to Schmeling.

Louis was some way from his peak of the early 40s but wasn't a novice either. As you say he already had dominant wins over Baer, Carnera and a few other contenders. Like Tyson against Douglas, he over-confident, under-prepared, and most importantly facing a good fighter who fought the fight of his life. Louis learned a valuable lesson that night and it made him a better fighter.
