I agree with you on those three.

Calz defo. An undeafed fighter with wins over Hopkins & Jones jr on his record, how can he not be?
im sorry are u saying his win over RJJ means or proves something? excuse me a second..

    okey im done.

u do know RJJ was possibly the most washed up any fighter has ever been in a "big" fight ever? is berbick an atg for beating ali? how about joppy for beating a 50 year old duran?

RJJ hadnt had a good win or performance in what? 6 years?

    u gotta be kidding me.

and hopkins was way past his best too, alot of ppl think hopkins beat him aswell after which calzaghe ducked him, dawson and any other real challenge to fight the corpse of roy jones.

theres no doubt toney is a greater fighter than calzaghe. he beat great fighters convincingly when they were at their best, joe never did that.

hold up im gonna laugh some more at the notion that joes RJJ win meant something..

okey this time im done for real.

If you see Calzaghe to be then Toney absolotaly is! For the record i think Calzaghe is also, but Toneys resume is better than Calzaghes in my view!

LMAO yeah I see your point, the Jones win shouldn't count for **** really. I think Calzaghe is an ATG JUST, due to what he's done 11 years previous to Jones. I believe the acculimation of beating a bunch of world class good fighters puts him there rather than 1 or 2 defining wins over trully great fighters ( although Hopkins was a massive scalp despite his age and the fact he wasn't shot!).

Wins over Lacy, Kessler, Brewer, Mitchel, Woodall, Reid, Bika, Eubank and Hopkins all contribute. Add in the fact he retired underfeated after 11 years at the top and won the major titles at SM and LH he sc****s up there for me somewhere in the top 100!

Although lmao a lot at the suggestion of Jones at the point of fighting him being a defining fight.

At his very best, you could match him P4P with most fighters outside that elite stratosphere. At his very best, there is no doubt he's an ATG. But he was so inconsistent that it hurts his status. He still makes it, though, if you ask me, just because he had insane skills. His good power, speed and underrated chin don't hurt, either.

          Holy couldn't KO 1 Toney with a *******.

Calzaghe is a HOFer not an ATG. He only became recognised as a top fighter in 2006 when he fought Lacy. Then after that he only beat Kessler. Hopkins beat him and RJJ was shot. Had Calzaghe stayed around a bit longer beaten more top fighters he could of been an ATG.

            Toney is a ATG though.

Well I can probably guess we can argue this till the cows come home.
So for now We can just agree to disagree but I'm sorry I'm not gonna claim for one second that Jones was in his prime, or anywhere near it, but how you can call a fight meaningless is beyond me. (and god I'm gonna sound like the leader of the Calzaghe fan club here) But Joe was hardly in his glory years either.

The thing I love most about the Jones Jr/Calzaghe fight is everyone's so quick to go on about how Jones had him down. Yet the moment you mention the following 11 rounds the fight was a joke and is meaningless.

And if I remember rightly Berbick didn't retire an unbeaten world champion, so that's a pretty irrelevant arguement.

Anyways back to the main point. Your talking about fighting guys who are too old one of Toney's biggest wins comes against the greatest grandad of them all in the shape of the real deal Holyfield.
He lost his fights with Peters, Jones jr & Griffin. Where's the great fighters he beat? Barkley?

Yeah, but he did not have top 10 power. He was a lot like James, actually. Fight change with one punch? Certainly. Fight end with one punch, almost definitely not, and absolutely not against someone as tough as Toney.
