  • How would Rocky Marciano do against Joe Frazier and Mike Tyson?

    In their primes, of course.

They were be no significant height advantage for either fighters. Weights, however, are a different story. Tyson would be around 30 pounds heavier than Marciano, while Frazier would be around 20 pounds heavier.

I don't think Marciano ever faced as great a puncher as Frazier or Tyson in his career, either. You could say Louis, but at that point he wasn't the same fighter that he used to be.

I believe Tyson and Frazier both beat him.

Frazier and Tyson were both better at applying pressure than Rocky. Joe is bigger, faster work rate, more power, and hits harder.

Tyson is too hard to hit, pinpoint accurate, killer with combo's, the one of the hardest punchers of all time, and way too big and strong for the Rock.

I believe for Walcott, Rocky weighed in at 185.

I was about to reply until I saw this. Now all I have to do is co-sign. Thanks for saving me the work. The only thing I disagree with is the weight factor. Rocky beat several people who were heavier than him. I think it has more to do with skills. I've always said that Rocky without power is a C fighter.

fraizer dosnt stand a chance with that glass chin, absence of a guard, and almost square stance. with fraizers constant bobbing while not protecting his chin i for see a 70% chance of a second susie q here with fraizer bobbing directly into a wound up right.

tyson vs marciano would be an amazing match but i just dont see tyson having the stamina to keep up with marcianos work rate. i see tyson tiering in the 6th and going down some time after the 7th.

i say marciano puts up a valiant 13 rds agains frazier but gets KO'd by a patented left hook. but ill say he beats tyson the first fight by tko but loses in less than 3 rounds in a rematch with tyson by KO.

I agree with Carlos, word for word.

I think Rocky-Tyson would look like THE WAR between Hagler & Hearns with Tyson coming out as Hagler just over powering him and getting that nasty KO. Would of been an all time great war though.

Frazier would have just been on the attack all night wearing him down in another ATG war with Frazier stopping him eventually.

Rocky was good no doubt but I don't think he could deal with the pressure, aggressiveness, relentlessness, and power that these guys would bring him.

Rocky not handling fraizers pressure PFTTTTT defensively they are both pretty well modeled after dempseys bob and weave cept marciano actually follows in the foot steps of dempsey and even earlier of jeffries by including the legendary stalking crouch with his bob and weave style. which fraizer of course could never have incorporated into his style as it required the ability to take a hit along with the punching power to deaden anything they make contact with.

fraizer may place pressure on marciano but all marciano needs to do is stand there with his guard up and there is nothing fraizer can do as the crouch guards almost the entire left side of your face and allows for almost sub conscious movement away if necessary along with the bottom of the rib cage almost sitting in your hip bowl area it turns your abs from concrete to re-enforced concrete and also creates a cage that completely guards your solar plexus and liver then you have the stalking aspect allowing conservation of energy plus very rooted foot work allowing for amazing sturdiness and balance when bobbing moving and getting hit.

marciano would take fraizer out faster then foreman took him out.

I love Rocky but he never fought anyone nearly as fast, tough, hard hitting and with equal stamina to his own. Yeah, Frazier probably tastes the canvas. But I doubt Marciano can keep him there. I use to think Rocky would win this fight but have since changed my mind and consider him (with all due respect) a poor mans Frazier. Joe was simply better at every aspect of the sport.
