Had it been a 10 round fight Oscar would have been close to pitching a shutout.

The b*tch ran for his life and you know it, even turning his back to avoid the punishment TITO was giving him. Run or get KO'D.... And in Las Vegas!!!! hoja territory!!!! LOL... Had hoja truly thought he won that fight? WHY didn't he rematch TITO? Cause if anyone can make a fight happen, it's delehoja!!! Why NO REMATCH???

Leonard and Hagler were there at ringside, it was as hype as the 1981 WW clash between Leonard and Hearns, but the fight itself did'nt lived up to the billing.

It wasn't even the worst decision De La Hoya has been apart of.His "wins" over Sturm and Qurtey were far worse decisions.

DLH already had the Decision by the 10th round but miraculously Tito won. I can still remember Tito crying like a baby girl and when he heard his name, the look of shock on his face was worse than the look of shock on mine, as I'm sure he and his corner were aware he had clearly lost.

One of the worst decisions in fight history.

A historical fight for many reasons and the pre fight hype was comparable to that of any huge fight in history.
Controversial ass fight to say the least , u dont even believe all the **** u said , the shock on titos eyes bla bla bla LOL it was a closer fight than most say and think , fact is Tito won last 4 by DLH running , who is to say someone didnt give him 2 out of like 4 close rounds , there were middle rounds were it was close , and where u would notice a big momentum change , De la hoya was very dominant up to like the 4th , from there on , he was still the superior fighter , but u could notice a change in pace and momentum. Tito was catching him more , and DLH was desperately outboxing because of need more.

I was like 16 or something , I dont even remember much , all I know is that the anticipation was somewhat of Cotto-Pac , but still tito-DLH was better

watch the fight again. Tito clearly won 4 of the first 9 and won the last 3. it is a common misconception that de la hoya won all of the first 9 rounds...
watch the fight again, i have it on dvd and everytime i watch it i see the same result. Tito winnin or the fight ending in a draw. there is no way Oscar won that fight...

I just watched De La Hoya vs Trinidad. This is my scores
                    1st Round Tito's round
                    • De La Hoya landed 6 out 19
                    • Tito landed 7 out 33
                    • Tito was clearly more active in this round.

2nd Round De La Hoya's round
                    • Nothing was really landed here
                    • Trinidad was more active again.
                    • De La Hoya outlanded Tito
                    • De La Hoya landed 11/39
                    • Trinidad landed 5/35

3rd Round De La Hoya's round
                    • Nothing impressive landed in this round
                    • De La Hoya was more active and threw some flurries. They looked better that what Tito did in this round
                    • De La Hoya landed 20/53
                    • Trinidad landed 10/33

                    4th Round Tito's round
                    • Tito landed the better punches in this round. De La Hoya was landing just the jab
                    .
5th Round De La Hoya's round
                    • De La Hoya clearly won this round
                    • He out landed Tito

6th Round De La Hoya's round
                    • A lot of ineffective flurries by De La Hoya but I thought he won the round.
                    • He also looked better than Tito

7th round De La Hoya's round
                    • De La Hoya was moving more than what Yuri Foreman was doing vs Cotto.
                    • A lot of fluries from De La Hoya

                    8th round Tito's round
                    Pretty even round
Tito's punches landed with more power while De La Hoya's punches were small flurries.
                    9th round Tito's round
De La Hoya had some flurries in the 1st minute of the round but Tito was more active while De La Hoya did not do anything else after the 1st minute.
                    10th round Tito's round
                    • Tito is landing some hard punches in the first 1 minutes.
                    • A lot of movement from De la Hoya but Tito is putting a lot of pressure.
                    • De La Hoya had a flurry in the 2nd minutes.
                    • Tito controlled the 3rd minute of the round.
                    • Even the corner told De La Hoya "no more rounds like this one"

                    11th round Tito's round
                    • De La Hoya was running and not throwing anything in this round. Trinidad is pressuring De La Hoya while De La Hoya is *****g his left hand out.

                    12th round Tito's round
                    • Tito landing stronger punches.
                    • De La Hoya is running a lot.

I scored it 115-113 for Tito.
This fight could of been a draw.
Some of the judges including Lederman could not agree with some of the rounds.

Oscar did not want to answer if Tito was worth $10.5 million.
Too bad there was not a rematch since De La Hoya promised that he was going to brawl.

This fight was big at the time, it is still up there with the highest grossing PPV's, with no 24/7 and the internet wasn't what it is today in the sense of traffic, marketing etc.

I remember the build up being massive, but it was let down. I think it was a lot like the DLH vs. Mayweather fight, huge build up, but a real let down.
