  • Roberto Duran VS. Davey Moore

At the time Davey Moore was the Champion
However, at the time of this fight against ATG great Roberto Duran He only had 12 professional career bouts with 9 ko's.

I just watched the fight again the other night.

My goodness, it was a Excellent and CLASSIC eventhough it was pretty onesided.

Any of you dudes catch it?

Moore showed more heart than any fighter in this era would minus Gatti.

If Kermit Cintron only had this kind of heart, He was pretty much done in the 7th and fought to his end in the 8th.

Yes,I watched the fight many times. When Duran is fighting with that much intensity there is not much you can do.He wanted that fight bad!! Almost as much as the 1st fight with SRL. He wanted to redeam himself from the 2nd fight with SRL.

Davey Moore was an offensive machine with a ton of heart, he just didn't have the defensive skills of Duran. Moore missed most of the big punches he threw while Duran landed his. Still impressive for him to beat fighters like Ayub Kalule, Charlie Weir and Gary Guiden in his 13 first professional fights. After losing to Duran, he knocked down Benitez in the first round which led to a fight ending injury, but his career winded down soon afterwards.

The Duran fight was a real brawl between two strong infighters but Duran's experience and better defensive ability won it for him.

Davey Moore was a good fighter, against Duran it just wasn`t his night, Duran thumbed him in the eye early in the fight and continued to foul Moore throughout the bout
