If Ali never beats Foreman, I'm not sure who would have. Maybe Holmes, but Foreman's mind was seriously ****ed up after that fight and he really didn't recover until his 2nd comeback.

He would have never been the greatest boxer, but he could have been the greatest puncher. Young Foreman's physical ability combined with old Foreman's smarts and patience would have been a very difficult task for any fighter to overcome, although he would still lack the skill and speed of a Muhammad Ali.

the man hit so hard and was so strong he is very hard to pick against. His mental game is what got him those losses. just not fighting smart. In his comeback he lost because he was older and slower.

I mean, an old man version gave a prime Holyfield quite the scare.

While he might not have been the greatest boxer as far as skill goes, I meant more or less he would have been the GOAT based on the fact he couldn't have been beaten.

You could argue that 70's Foreman had one of the greatest jabs of all time in the heavyweight division and that he was the hardest puncher of all time(right with Shavers). Considering it was impossible to knock him out(he knocked himself out vs Ali) and that he was a master of cutting off the ring..I don't think it would be possible to beat him given the 90's Foreman was one of the most patient/smartest fighters of the generation.

People love to forget about the fact that he lost to Jimmy Young when he was young Foreman.

I think it's widely accepted that young Foreman post RITJ wasn't the same as before the Ali fight.

He wasn't mentally there after the Ali fight, he became even more wild and vulnerable.
