P4p list are a bit mad as they are, when u make them all time they look silly to me how can u compare a heavyweight of recent times to a flyweight of back in the day who had 100's of fights ****** ****** ****** lists.

So much to take in to consideration, all so called experts have a different list, some old fights are not available on video and some are very bad quality slideshowesque quality.

Duran and SRL are both excellent all time greats, but I wouldn't have them above Langford or Ezzard Charles. If you don't mind me asking, why do you rate them both so high?

About 10 years ago i did as much research on Sam Langford as i could, and reading everything i could about him.I was a big Sam Langford fan! In fact,at the time i thought he was the 2nd greatest p4p fighter of all-time.Maybe i need to go back in time and research him again.

I rank Ezzard Charles as the greatest light heavyweight of all-time! And I'm a big Charles fan!

But i rank Duran as the greatest light weight ever. Then he goes up 12 pounds(Skipping Jr welterweight) and puts an old fashion butt kicking on SRL. He loses the rematch, but that doesn't take away from the 1st fight!! Duran was never the same after the 1st SRL fight. But he still looked pretty good dismantaling Davey Moore at 154.He still looked pretty good winning the Middleweight Championship! He even looked good in a losing effort against Marvin Hagler.Remember,he was past his prime in these fights and up in weight. If Duran doesn't skip Jr welterweight he wins in 5 different weight classes! Three of them past his prime!

I rank Duran and SRL about even.I type to slow and mis spell to many words(I have to look them up in the dictunary) to give you the run down on SRL right now.It would take about 30-40 minutes to type it,so i will do at a later time.

Will continue at a later time.

I don't agree but respect your opinion the same. I also appreciate you taking the time to beak it down.

I don't personally have a preference to who the best all time lightweight is, as long as its between Duran, Gans and Benny Leonard. I often lean towards Leonard because of his incredible comp, but can be swayed to favor the other two on any given day. Why do you prefer Duran over Leonard and Gans at 135 if you don't mind me asking?

Honestly,i don't know much about Leonard and Gans.

I remember reading about Leonard and was very impressed. If it's the same Leonard who was a masterfull boxer. The articule stated that Leonard was the greatest boxer who ever lived(Stylist, scientificly). The auther said he didn't believe what everybody was saying about Leonard, how great he was. Then when he saw film on Leonard he couldn't believe his eyes, and said he was the best boxer he ever saw.

Is this the same Leonard your probably talking about? If so,I have no problem with people ranking him so high. But i never saw him fight myself,so i go with Duran because i have watched most of his fights.

I have read many boxing experts talking about how great Gans was, but i honestly do not know enough about him.

I know alot more about the heavyweights to be honest.

Like Jab, i've toyed with all 3 as the best at 135 and tbh, I wouldn't be able to create a good argument against any one of them being ranked at no1.. But as for an ATG list, i'd say Benny Leonard (top 10).. Duran (top 12).. Gans (top 15).. Ray Leonard (top 25)..

On skill level, he's up there, but only 40 fights with a few ripe cherries?... Like you, i've been brushing up on Benny Leonard recently.. When you analize his resume and compare it to that of SRL, it doesn't come close.. Skill wise, they were compatible but that's all.
