True, and their quality of resume is about the same tbh.. Foster's best wins were against Rondon, Finnegan and a PP Tiger.. Michalczewski's best was Hill, Griffin and Gianvannini, but Dariusz outshines him on quantity.. He was dominant for 9 years and made 23 successful defences.. He's almost up there with Louis lol

You know, I've gone over that TOP 10 a bunch of times and EACH time I change the order. I have no idea what my list will look like tomorrow.

      Today I have:

1 1. Ali (the number to the left is the OP's number)
      2 2. Duran
      3 3. Monzon
      4 5. Arguello
      5 6. Pacquiao?
      6 7. Hagler
      7 10. Leonard
      8 8. Chavez
      9 4. Jones
      10 11. Whitaker

Interestingly only the TOP 3 have remained the same.

Having seen fights of Chang and Gushiken on dvds I dont see Chang beating Gushiken or even lasting the distance.

Thats extremely high for Arguello. Sentimental?

            1.RJJ
            2.Ali
            3.Pacquiao
            4.Lewis (or 5.Vitali)-interchangable
            6.Hamed
7.Watson (wouldve beaten eubank if it wasnt for a freak uppercut that ended his career- and would have had wins over both eubank and benn at their peaks- including a ko of benn)
            7.Leonard
            8.Foreman
            9.Duran
            10.hearns
            11/12. eubank/benn
            13.Haggler
            14.bhop
            15.Mosley

mayweather would've been top 3 if he wasnt a gutless duck

he aint top 25 as far as im concerned because he aint fought anyone

Top 40 is difficult because whatever criteria you set out to make, the list inevitably becomes contradictory and you find fighters can flip up and down 10 spots from the debatable arguments alone.

              01. Roberto Duran
              02. Ray Leonard
              03. Muhammad Ali
              04. Carlos Monzon
              05. Alexis Arguello
              06. Salvador Sanchez
              07. Jose Napoles
              08. Marvin Hagler
              09. Pernell Whitaker
              10. Thomas Hearns
              11. Julio Cesar Chavez
              12. Michael Spinks

If Sanchez doesn't fall victim to a tragedy, he has Pedroza unification bout and likely rematch with a more experienced Nelson. If they had happened, then LOOK OUT. And he wouldn't of even left 126 yet. As it stands, he was a phenomenally skilled fighter, beat a high amount of ranked fighters in a short period of time, made 9 title defenses and got wins over Danny Lopez (x2), Wilfredo Gomez and a game, if green Azumah Nelson. All of them are rightfully enshrined in the HOF. Pedroza would've been a fourth.

Good list but Muhammad Ali ranks ahead of Ray Leonard for me.

Yuh had seventeen defenses, not Chang. Chang beat the better fighters of the two.

I'd have Whitaker third but fine shot. Lists are fun.
