No Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Sugar Ray Robinson, Archie Moore. Bob Foster whipped every LH he ever faced, and you have Toney, Spinks, and Hoja on your list ahead of him??? Make a New list!!!!!!!!!!!!

Greatest fighters who started boxing in the last 40 years, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Sugar Ray Robinson and Archie Moore are all pre 40 years ago =.=, also Spinks 'whipped' every LHW he ever faced and is ahead of Foster on many people lists.

You seem like the smart type, so who wins out of Foster and Michalczewski?

          As with the quote:

I don't see Hatton remembered by anyone who wasn't actively following him while he was active
While i have no issue with you not rating hatton too highly i do disagree with the bolded statement-I think hatton will be very well remembered

Mainly due to the fact that he fought the two best fighters of the last ten years in memorable fights, they may have been losing efforts but the knockouts he suffered will be hard to forget

IMO Roy Jones is way too high on the list. I don't belive his accomplishments surpass Pac and SRL, and I'm not sure that Pac has surpassed SRL YET.

I meant no particular disrespect to Hatton. Anybody that wins a belt of any kind is an excellent fighter. But we're talking about greats and ATGs here. If Ricky Hatton is remembered at all it will be because people remember Mayweather and Pacquiao. I loved Tszyu but I don't think anybody will remember him either 40 years, 60 years from now.

Now, by "anybody" I'm not talking about diehard boxing history fans who would be interested in watching the "old-timers" from the 1990s and 2000. They, at least, will have better film than we have of the fighters from the 194os.

The die hard fans would probably have DVDs (or whatever they will have) called the 100 best fights of the 1990s and the 100 best fights of the 2000. Those fans will know Ricky Hatton.

But, truly, outside of die hard boxing history fans how many boxing fans know more than 3 or 4 boxers from every decade. And even then it's limited.

Example: the 1960s. Who's remembered? Liston, Ali, Frazier, Griffith anybody else?

The boxing history fans would go: how can you forget Fighting Harada or Benny Kid Paret or Gene Fullmer or **** Tiger or ...

Hatton will probably be remembered in much the same way as Paret is -- for his loss to Griffith.

Again no disrespect to Hatton. He was a good fighter (good enough to get a belt -- and that's damn good) and he's a likeable man.

The Polish Tiger was a tough dude. But I'd have to go with Foster! It'd be a good exciting fight for sure.

Foster never faced anyone half as tough as him at 175.. He also never faced a fellow puncher at 175.. Michalczewski also had an iron jaw and could KO with both hands, so i'd say the only way Foster can win this, is on the back foot which wasn't his strongest asset..
You also have to remember that Dariusz went up to CW and won a title by KO, then moved back down to LH and made multiple KO defenses against the likes of Virgil Hill, a very good boxer with a sound chin who'd held the WBA strap for many years, where as Foster was KO'd by most quality fighters at 185 and over..
If Foster couldn't KO Ray Anderson and Pierre Fouri at 175, then no way is he gonna KO Michalczewski either.. I'd say Bob's chances are slim to none..

You might be right.. but i'm taking into account that Foster never lost to any LH, his only defeats were only to Heavyweights. I guess we'll never know!!!
