    I have? Where?

u respond to me with words like lol, Lmao, and weird smileys thats why i wrote u r pissed off.
How much sense does that make? Im laughing at you so Im pissed? (shaking my head) Brilliant logic.

just a question, u think the winner of this debate will prove who is the better fighter of the two?
Nope, and thats never been my intention. I've already stated I have no problem with anyone rating Ali number 1.

i have my opinion, and i said already before i dont care what u think, for me ali is the better heavyweight of the two for obvious reasons:

who beat the higher rated ATG's, ali or louis?
    Ali

who beat more ATG's, ali or louis?
Louis. Ali has Liston, Patterson, Foster, Freazier Norton and Foreman. Louis has Farr, Sharkey, Baer, Walcott, Conn, Schmeling and Bivins. Louis also fought more champions and more hall of famers.

who faced more awkward styles, ali or louis?
    This is even.

who beat more top 10 contenders, ali or louis?
I believe Louis did, but can't be sure.
who was knocked down more in his career, ali or louis?
Louis, but what does that mean?

who got KO'd cold in his prime, ali or louis?
Neither. don't bother saying the first Schmeling fight because Louis hadn't quite reached his prime yet.

your only argument is joe louis has more title defenses, and ali made 7 within 11 months then got banned.

Lol, obviously that isn't my only argument. And what does Ali having 7 defenses in 11 months have to do with anything? Louis had 8 defenses in just over 9 months between 12-16-40 and 9-29-41.

This is a fact. And you also want sources, here they are.

With all due respect to Ali, neither of these publications are as credible as the IBRO when it comes to boxing and it should be pointed out that both hardly cover boxing at all.

      • More a testamant to his high profile and popularity though?

Think you guys be best to agree to differ to be honest.

Yup, but that is based on much more than just his ring accomplishments. That is a fact.

Would you say most of the posters here know more about boxing and its history than the IBRO? Simple question. I'll wait for you to answer.

                    u forgot archie moore.
i really believe floyd patterson alone would have beaten at least 5 of the fighters u mentioned, forget about what foreman could have done to them.

it means ali faced the harder punchers and still wasnt knocked down as much as louis.

schmeling was 10 years older than louis, louis was the undeniable favorit when he fought schmeling.
maybe he didnt took him serious, doesnt mean he wasnt in his prime.
schmeling was the one who wasnt quite as good as in their first fight when louis met him 2 years later again.

wrong, ali beat 33 top 10 contenders, louis beat 30.

Here is a list of historians and others all time heavyweight rankings. Ali comes in ahead of Joe 8 to 7. Of course that isn't taking into consideration that there was more than one voter for the ESPN and IBRO votes which in essence mean Louis had to have gotten more votes.
