- - Southpaw didn't last long, but Big George and Jack Dempsey my first picks as they kept their wits and ain't hot tempered or punchdrunk. Maybe toss in Manny Pac for the little guys with heavyweight hearts...

The history teacher in me, says Joe Louis- perspectives on turn of the century South, the Depression, WWII, post war America, etc.
But there is a part of me that wants to choose Monzon, and maybe just hang out from a distance, and see if he is as crazy as some claim.

Floyd Mayweather Jr.
I figure we'll get drunk and high enough that I could rob him and come morning, convince him he lost half of it ******** and gave the other half to whores.
Then he'll want to know what we'll do being tonight.
Actually Leon Spinks. He seems to know the secret of life: eat, love, and laugh. He understood that all the rest really isn't important.

But what one gleams from readings, he was quite a prick. You'll just end up one of his entourage.
P.S. Not often can we pin-point when a new word enters a language's lexicon but in this case, with the French word 'entourage,' SRR gets 100% unquestioned credit for making that French word part of the English lexicon.
Story goes that while campaigning in France, always with his crowd of hanger-ons following him about. He entered an upscale party/gathering where the Maître d' not quite knowing how to introduce the group said, "Monsieur Sugar Ray Robinson and entourage."
SRR loved the way it sounded and when back in the States started using the term and the sports writers jumped on it.
Personally I love the way American English just steals other people's words and then claims them as our own.
Other languages use our English words, but they just pronounce our words with their accent. We steal their words outright and don't look back. ***
Algebra is an Arabic word, but not only will you find that you can't find and American kid who doesn't recognize the word, you will also find that all Americans have an emotional response to the word as well. (Usually negative.)
So it's our word now, even more than it's theirs.
So is Entourage. It's still a French word, but it's more common to our lexicon than it is theirs.
100% SRR doing.
*** This is why, as a conservative you must change your mind about making English our official language. If you do that, it will stifle the language's growth in the same manner the French and Spanish have stifled the growth of their own.
Plus the creation of an official language will also necessitate more government. As someone will have to decide what is and what isn't English. That is not good. Best let the people decide.
English is never going to disappear and doesn't need to be protected by law. It's willingness to bastardize itself is exactly why it will be the last language standing.
You create an official English and you with hobble the language's expansion.
One day, a few hundred years from now, English will be called "Human."
So long as you ************* don't do something ****** and like putting an official fence around it.Last edited by Willie Pep 229; 12-20-2023, 12:48 PM.

Gonna weak out and go with Onomastos, the first on record ever. **** all to do with boxing it'd just be interesting to talk to a man from three thousand years ago.
As a fan, Eubank, without a thought. Always Eubank. Eubank was the greatest entertainer of my lifetime, maybe ever. Mike Tyson seems fun, Evander seems cool, Foreman seems like good times and smiles, but that Eubank man, he has that extra something. A little bit weird, a little bit ugly, a little bit handsome, a little bit pompous, a little bit barbaric, a little bit of everything, what's not to love about Simply The Best?
Eubank
