McCallum was nothing special. His very controversial SD win over domestic level Herol Graham sums him up. Sure he beat Watson and Collins, both good wins, but neither would be close to top 10 Mayweather wins. Talk about overrating these old guys! LMFAO! Nash out.

I'm not the biggest Mayweather fan, but I can't deny his level of skill and what he accomplished

You think Floyd decisions him?? lol what are you reasons for this? Floyd had 2 fights at 154, both against former Welters, both fights he didn't have any easy time - some even think he lost to Oscar. Hagler wasn't on the list but that would've been good because Hagler was adaptable and could turn it into a slugfest possibly.

I think McCallum was a really good middleweight but Mayweather is one of the best boxers ever: OK so 154 was about his top weight but McCallum would be dropping down, plus Mike struggled to beat another excellent boxer in Bomber Graham so ergo logic tells me Floyd is better than Graham, equals a good points win for Money.
Oh and I don't really think many (if any) middleweights get the better of a prime Hagler so it is not intended as an insult when I say McCallum would have given him a good scrap, quite the opposite in fact.

I can see why both Hagler and Hearns might duck him - I am not saying they did but McC would be a difficult fight for both.

- -The timeline is a beautiful thing in understanding the background. Tony Ayala was hot and supposedly lined up vs Marv before he got sent up.

Hearns had moved well beyond 154, Marv fought Mugabi and likely would've retired but the jackpot Leonard coming out of retirement. In short, they all had bigger game in their sights than a dumpy 154 unknown McC who hated how Manny favored Hearns over him.
