since you admit his resume would be be better, than you can also admit he didnt fight everybody there was to fight.i put more stock in cleaning a division ala homes, klit, than fraziers rahman like title reign.
and you rank his resume higher based solely off ali and foreman.are seriously trying to say nobody on holmes,or the fklits resume is better than ellis, mathis bonavena lol dude get real.those are joes best wins outside of ali.like i said get serious.oscar and tito are 2 of my fav fighters and i dont even put mayorga as a quality win.so please stop trying to retread bonavena,or quarry.they were mediocre at best and theres plenty video to prove that
and mercer is the only heavy to arguably decision lewis, anddeserved a win over prime holy, whom are both better than frazier and arguably top 5 heavys
You rank a fighters resume on the strength of who they fought. Period. Woulda, shoulda, coulda is immaterial. If fighter A has stronger fighters on his resume than fighter B then fighter A has the better resume. It doesn't matter one wit if fighter B cleaned out a weak division, HE STILL HAS THE WEAKER OPPOSITION!!!!!
Holmes didn't fight a whole host of fighters so you can get off that tip. And Mercer didn't beat either Lewis or Holy, and his resume isn't even close to Fraziers. Don't even get me started on the sorry ass resumes of either Klit brother.
As far as Quarry and Bonovena.....both were highly rated for years during the toughest heavyweight era in boxing. How mediocre do you really think they are? They weren't ranked by one alphabet group or another, they were universally ranked amongst the best. Do you really want to keep arguing this and losing credibility here?
holmes fought everybody there was to fight including up and comers unlike frazier.holmes just laughs when peole call ali the greatest heavy ever.and if you want to knock ray for losing do the same to joe.he didnt beat foreman,he got slaughtered an beat a 3 year layoff ali.beating quarry and bonanvena is the same as beating any other solid contender

Exactly. Both Liston and Marciano cleaned out their division. Neither has a better resume than Frazier in my opinion.

Holmes fought everyone, huh? I guess the names Page, Coetzee, Dokes and Tubbs don't ring a bell amongst others. Don't ever challenge me son.

Liston fought:
Cleveland Williams x2
Floyd Patterson x2
Eddie Machen x1
Muhammed Ali x2
Marciano fought:
A washed-up Joe Louis x1
A past-prime Joe Walcott x2
A past-prime Light-Heavyweight Ezzard Charles x2
A past-prime Light-Heavyweight Archie Moore x1
Roland LaStarza x2
Frazier fought:
Oscar Bonevena x2
Muhammed Ali x3
George Foreman x2
Jimmy Ellis x2
Jerry Quarry x2
George Chuvalo x1
Those are the best fighters from each man's resume.
kostya isnt an atg??hatton beathim.hatton was destroyed by pac same as joe was destroyed by foreman.please explain the difference between those 2
on a side note,loove or hate joe,he doesnt deserve a D lol
lol, maybe he is in Australia and England, but to the rest of the world he's just a good boxer.
Unless you want to tell me who Kostya fought that warrants him to be an ATG, and don't say Zab Judah or an old Chavez.
Hatton going 11 rounds with Kostya and winning doesn't make him good. That's his best win and Kostya was 36 and at the end of his career, so that isn't really all that impressive to me.
A prime Kostya would have KO'd him with the way Ricky used his typical "Block punches with my face for as long as I can and hope you don't hit me hard enough to end the night" defense.
foreman was retired by the times holmes was on top and lewis wasnt anywhere near the scene.they missed each other by a good 2 years
Foreman retired in 97 and Holmes was always calling him out, Lewis took the WBC title in 93 which is 1 year after Holmes fought with Holyfield for the IBF, WBA and WBC, I'd say Holmes still could of fought Lewis as well as Bowe.
