I think A- is fair. I'd even entertain arguments for B+. Anything lower than that though and you're either a plain hater or you don't know what you're talking about. Jmo.
I was going back and forth btwn A- and B+. Of course, now that the poll is closed it doesn't matter.
I was disgusted at that troll Snopkins with his quote "History will forget Joe Frazier and it'll be much cleaner when it does." I know he's a troll but, come on, really?

As long as there are boxing fans Smoking Joe won't be forgotten. Ali-Frazier I is a classic. And will anyone forget Cosell saying "Down Goes Frazier. Down Goes Frazier." I can see someone not putting Frazier in the TOP 10 but I can't, for the life of me, see anyone not placing Frazier in the TOP 20. Everyone in the TOP 20 deserves to be remembered.
Listing the TOP Heavyweights - I can't think of 20 that can even be considered above Joe Frazier. Let's give it a try (I DON'T think all these guys are above Frazier. Just trying to make a list):
Sullivan
Corbett
Johnson
Wills
Dempsey
Tunney
Schmelling
Louis
Walcott
Marciano
Charles
Patterson
Liston
Ali
Foreman
Holmes
Tyson
Holyfield
Lewis
VK
WK
There we go. 21 names above Joe Frazier.
Does anyone really think that Schmelling, Lewis and the Ks belong above Frazier? No.
OK, that's enough with this silly game. Frazier is an ATG and will never be forgotten.
There are a couple of guys on here who are claiming Joe Frazier has a weak resume. Well here is a chance to discuss and grade it. Have at it!
truthfully i reckon frazier gets a A- from me resume wise...why because i think his career was too short but still had a great amount of wins:
- Ali (first man to beat him)
- Buster Mathis Sr (first man to beat high ranked undefeated contender Mathis)
- George Chuvalo (decent all out fighter good chin frazier was the first amongst him and george foreman to be the only two fighters to beat chuvalo)
-Oscar Bonavena (Top Ranked Contender)
-Jerry Quarry (Top Ranked Contender)
-Jimmy Ellis (former WBA HW Champ)

This is what keeps both him and Jeffries out of my top 10.

Joe Frazier is Ali's best win IMO. I know he beat young unstoppable Foreman, but Frazier gave him hell 3 times. And having Ali & George Foreman on your loss record should make you overrated either. Jerry Quarry is a win too. He beat Oscar, and he would have beat Liston if they fought too. I don't think Holmes could of handled his relentlessness either. Holmes resume is an old Ali, Spinks & Norton. Frazier's win over PRIME Ali > almost anybody's best win. He would have done crazy well if he fought in the 80's or 90's or even today he'd be champ.
I have him 6 ATG heavyweight,
1. Muhammad Ali, he dominated a pretty tough bunch of heavyweights for a decade.
2. Joe Louis
3. George Foreman
4. Evander Holyfield(Bowe, Foreman, Moore, Prime Tyson twice, got robbed against Valeuv at an ancient age to become the oldest champion past 40. Hell of a career. Fought everybody.
5. Larry Holmes
6. Joe Frazier
7. Mike Tyson
8. Jack Johnson
9. Lennox Lewis
10. Sonny Liston
Frazier's win over PRIME Ali > almost anybody's best win.
Problem is he never fought a prime Ali. Ali was prime in '67 not '70 after the 3 year layoff. Still a good win as Ali at 75% is still better then most opponents at 100%.
Oh, and when I think of Holmes' signature fights Ali and Spinks aren't the first to come to mind: It's more like Norton, Shavers, Weaver, and Cooney.....just sayin' :chuckle9:

I agree 100 percent here. I've had a lot of debates over this on different boxing sites.
