- -George was off all of 75 tring to secure the Ali rematch mentioned in Ali's Playboy Nov1974 interview by a black Indonesian oilman for $5mil apiece.

Ferdie and Herbert wouldn't let Ali any closer than shouting distance of George where with little Buddy Cosell, they savaged George in Canada on abc sports.

The month before George was SI cover arms crossed demanding the the richest fight in history, the Ali rematch.

So, yeah, George KOed 3 of 5 and took the other two the distance with beatdown as Ali screamed in the background and Howie intoned in all seriousness about what a clown show he was all set up to cover in Canada with Ali.

I'd love to see footage from that night. No matter what, it'd have to be better watching than Diggstown.

I saw it when it happened. It was actually in the daytime outside as I remember. Foreman was horribly sloppy and a psychological mess, but he did manage to prevail--just barely, and did himself no favor with the spectacle, for which he was in no better condition than Zaire.

I forgot how weird this was. Cosell mentions afternoon but they must be inside. A lot of tension in George's face throughout.
