Take note I'm posting this based on boxers I have seen enough from to judge, If I haven't seen at least 5 or so fights I don't consider myself able to really give a fair assessment of a fighter. For example what good would my ranking of Greb be considering I have only seen one of his fights?

            Heavyweights:
            1. Ali
            2. Louis
            3. Holmes

            - Not enough fights seen to comment on Jack Johnson(Only highlights)

            Middleweights:
            1. Hagler
            2. Monzon
            3. Hopkins

            - Not enough fights seen from: Greb, LaMotta

            Welterweights:

            1. Sugar Ray Robinson
            2. Napoles
            3. Sugar Ray Leonard

            - Not enough fights seen from (Armstrong, Langford)

Also I agree with JAB5329, that I don't think SRR is top 3 at MW.

Im surprised Emile Griffith hasn't got any shouts as a top 3 welter. Its arguable, but he's got to be in the top 5 or 6 at least.

Sugar Ray Robinson is the greatest Middleweight of All Time.....First of all...we're talking about a guy who was a natural Welterweight who moved up to Middleweight because there just wasn't any competition left for him in that division....so basically he was fighting men who were naturally bigger than him.....he was able to win the title years past his prime and defeat fighters like basillio and fullmer who were in their prime...5 time middleweight Champ (a record which hasn't been broken to this day), back when there was only 1 champion and 1 belt....so he defeated the Top Guy consistently....

Marvin Hagler couldn't deal with a guy who hadn't fought in 5 years, so that basically puts his greatness in perspective

Ray Robinson is the greatest Middleweight because of the fighters he defeated for the title, the manner in which he defeated them and his overall accomplishments in the division

I don't rank him the best middle based on dominance. Hagler, Monzon, Greb and to a lesser extent Hopkins were all more consistent as champ. I also don't buy into the reasoning that he was smaller than most of the middles he fought. Ray was actually a good size middleweight then, fighting at 5'11" and usually having the height advantage. Moving weight to weight back then was much different due to same day weigh ins and less weight classes. I believe he grew into middle just fine, though he was much more dominant at welter.

Fair enough. But by this logic he also lost to the top guys consistently. As I said, Greb, Monzon and Hagler were much more consistent.

It was only 3 years my friend. And you have to take into account that Leonard is one of the best fighters ever and Marvin was at the end of a long, distinguished career.

While I can respect your opinion, I still disagree.
