  • Now Take Notice!

Horace Notice 16-0 (12 KO) that is...

Notice was British champ during the early 80's..
He didn't get into boxing until later in life, but would not have been classed old by todays standards.. Inspite of this he was pretty good. He mopped up in the UK, and was about to embark on the Euro/World scene, when a serious eye problem halted his career..

Here are some of the fighters on his ill fated, but winning resume..

    Hughroy Currie
    Noel Quarless
    Anaclet Wamba
    Mike Jameson
    Dean Waters

Ok, hardly murderers row, but very impressive for a 16 fight novice!

Can anyone add to this? Some video footage would be soundly appreciated!

I'd also like some thoughts on how far you think he could'a gone...

i have quite a few Horace Notice fights which i recorded in the early 80s on VHS his fights were often aired live` on the BBCs Sportsnight with Coleman`.. Notice was a good prospect who was very athletic and fit, he resembled Evander Holyfield all be it a touch slower.

True to one of you're earlier posts, there truly isn't a lot you haven't got!

No Dis, but I'd say most people haven't heard of him..
I remember him as you say.. Good description actually!

Can remember being disappointed when he had to retire, cos I'd been quietly tipping him for a long time.. It kinda 'pissed on my fireworks' so to speak..
I think he may have come out on top against the young Mason, Bruno etc, and gone on to bigger and better things.. I know he was up for a European title attempt, when the injury was diagnosed.. I believe Lucien Rodriguez was champ at the time, and I'd say Horace was more than capable of beating him to..
