It outstrips my imagination that a man could write tens of thousands words on topics cogent to boxing over many years yet never see Raging Bull, or have enough interest to bother seeing a great film in and of itself, let alone one about his special subject of interest.

Some films are good because they are fine films independently of their subject matter. Don't let them fool you, grasp it. No! not that!!

Films don't get much better than Fat City, Raging Bull, Requiem For A Heavyweight and Winner Take All. For an avid boxing fan to miss them because of some ancient bias picked up from seeing a random scene outta one movie, is your reasoning alright. Of course you do not actually think I believe you, do you? You think I don't know you've seen 'em all, and seen 'em more than once? You want my guarantee?
