Cmon that was an obvious publicity stunt, no way on earth she found that creep remotely attractive. Hollywood and media are all publicity stunts. The objective was to handsomize and romanticize a bozo. Believe half of what you see and nothing of what you read and hear.

It wasn't deliberate PR by Hollywood, it was a Hollywood ancedote.

1. Monroe herself once quipped how she loved Einstein's brilliance and stated: "We should have children together, they'll be both brilliant and beautiful."

(A line Chuck Lore would steal and insert in The Big **** Theory, the first time Leonard sees Penny. It's a known line in Hollywood.)

2. At her death it was discovered Monroe's domicile was filled with books on physics, several by Einstein, (plus other major players in philosophy and the Enlightenment), with margin notes wrtten in her own hand. She was teaching herself physics and studying philosophy.

3. Monroe married Arthur Miller. He was no 'looker' either.

Not Hollywood PR, just a bright young, very pretty girl, who used to get crushes on dorks and married a couple.

I agree with what you say. Out of interest we in the UK have this fashion going on where because so many of us are using zoom and that shows the background of our houses people are buying fake books from movie and theatre stockists to make people think they are intellectual but they don't want to actually spend money of the actual books so they stock their bookshelves with empty fake books just like you see in the movies and theatrical shows.
Norma Jean was a wonderful lady and I believe she was genuinely curious and driven to learn more about the world and she loved older men who could educate her and that was brilliant to live that way. Sadly she had substance issues like nearly all stars from the 50's.
Just thought I would add that. Can you believe people would go to theatre stockists just to have the shells of books just to look academic to people who may see them on their zoom meeting on tele or whatever.

I don't buy it. She was just a shiksa for Miller and Einstein. It's a smart career move to kiss kosher a55.. I just read in Groucho Marx book, he said his friend Charlie Chaplin told him, "I wish I was ***ish." He surely didn't mean it, but that level of a55 ki55ing is how you move up in the world.
