I just watched the French Open final. Tennis, like boxing an individual sport, controlled by one all-embracing body, the ITF. But then, tennis has it’s house in order. Like most other sports.

Boxing has failed. The four orgs have been allowed to increase their power through acceptance (for this I blame later generation boxing journalists), and I believe it’s too late to wind the clock back.
Personally, I have given up hope of any change and therefore don’t follow boxing that much anymore.
Which is perhaps a good thing for my moral edification, since there is an ethically questionable aspect to enjoying watching two healthy fellows try to knock each other unconscious.

      - - There are a large number of former boxing fans disgusted with boxing for exactly that reason. Boxing used to be hugely accessible and popular because of the advent of TV where I watched innumerable greats on fuzzy TVs as a little kid. Later when Ali became popular, he was on much improved TV Platforms that lasted until DKing stunk out the joint too many times and Land Broadcast TV washed their hands of him and boxing.

Enter HBO and paid Cable TV charging highway robbery prices for just regular TV programs most of which I was uninterested in along with PPV Boxing.

Had high hopes for DAZN with Eddie Hearns doing a brilliant job in bringing great fights together, but DAZN has much bigger platforms the public is interested in, so boxing got a shyte platform that never worked right.

And remember the Pac/l'l floydy fight setting PPV records with hundreds of 1000s unable to watch after paying fantastical $$$ on what ever PPV platform they used that generated something like a $100mil lawsuit that likely was never settled.

        - - Poor Wart couldn't draw flies nor any significant $$$ hates how popular Canelo is. Went into training to fight him before realizing he's shyte, so he trained Plant to beat Canelo that was a major fail.

Tough not being good enough, yet stu pid enough to enhance stup idity...yeah!!!
