Johnson did not fight Hart until the 26th of March 1905..Jeffries had already publicly stated that, if Johnson won he would not fight him.
    - - And Johnson was a flop as I indicated, and Jeffries retired as I indicated, so U transmongrifying me is U flop

Jeffries retired because he could not make any more money fighting old, white ,ex champs of the previous era coming out of retirement for a pay day,and white stumble bums for gimmee defences, and he was not prepared to risk his title by fighting the best of the black contenders.
You really should not try using long words you cannot spell.
      Transmogrifying.

I was out mindin my own, transmogrifying... when a butterfly whispered to me: "Not only does this explain why Jeffries left boxing, but it is the very hook that allowed the press, Jack London amongst them, to virtually demand that Jeffries come out of retirement to challenge Johnson."

If a fighter is already set in his mind that his race is a reason for keeping the title exclusive, it logically would follow that a challenge to that exclusion, accepted, could only result from the same attitude. Ockham's Razor. I don't know what Queenie, or anyone else thinks would trump this logic...

So why do you think he retired?

Sharkey was not an aging ex champ coming out of retirement, neither was he a white stumble bum he was the number 1 contender having beaten both the men,[ Corbett and Ruhlin,] Jeffries subsequently defended against inside the distance. Do try and keep up!

As I told you Sharkey was a spent force by the end 1901 and lost often. Ruhlin knocked him out in 1902. And Jeffries gave Ruhlin his re-match in 1901.

                END

After beating Sharkey ,Jeffries defended against no hoper Finnegan 4-2-4 and Corbett who had not won a fight for 6 years.
Jeffries reneged on his promise to give Sharkey the next chance at his title after their second fight.

I had asked if anyone got 3 on jeffs record.

                    The answer looks like no.

So what's being asked here is why Jeffries didn't treat Sharkey like he is special.

The answer is probably in who he did beat.

People liked the Munroe fight. Ivich loves fallacy.
