Any version of Greb and Langford able to fight comfortably and at their best at 154 seems like pure fiction and misleading. That is the number of fights they ended up with.

The point is that at that juncture they would certainly not have 400+ fights between them, so you should maybe stop using that one. I don't know that both men had even reached their best when they were able to make 154 comfortably. I think the format should simply read "at their best" without stipulating a weight. They are of similar poundage naturally anyway. What is so special about 154 other than they will both have younger bodies? That is no guarantee they would be in their boxing primes at that weight. 160 would seem a closer bet--about the time Sam was angling for Ketchel and Greb was picking up the middleweight title.

You probably have a closer account of the two career trajectories than I do. Explain about 154.
Considering there is a good idea that both of them may have had upwards of 500 fights it is a good idea to use it.

they were newspaper fighters. Greb and Langford would fight themselves into shape. What we see is just the documented stuff.

Greb and Langford very often came in just over 154. Grebs favorite weight was 157.

But the ease that he did things......we train and if you've trained for a decent amount of time a lot comes instinctively, but sometimes you have to think about what you're going to do next. Guys with that many fights it's just second nature. Anything you threw he not only avoided, but knew instantly how to counter. I imagine it was the same with Greb. He was a nonstop punching machine, but I have the feeling he could feel or anticipate what his opponents were going to do as well and helped him be more successful. No proof of that, just an observation from working with a guy (different combat sport) with hundreds of fights.
yeah thai fighters are incredibly tough on the top level.

thai boxing is indeed different, there is a certain class in that sport where a better fighter isn’t expected to kill a lesser fighter - but they are certainly tougher men. Harder and stronger from years of conditioning

Clay Moyle the expert on Langford ,states Sam's best weight was 175/180lbs.
Greb never allowed himself to get out of shape as Langford did.

Sam gots Greb figured out for the next two and either beats him up or KOs him...

as much as I like Greb, Langford just catching him and knocking him out might be the first pick. The second pick is Greb is too fast that Langford never gets him.

                    - - I would guess so since I don't remember the last time I was at a bar prob over two decades ago @ the historic ca 1916 The Tavern that my bro used to tend when his best friend owned it. My best friend rebuilt the current staircase there 30 years that still exists. Or it may have been Scholz Garten est 1866 where I saved the Brazilian Rosewood Bar that had been painted shyte brown. I disassembled the relic for the painters to strip and varnish before rebuilding the original bar not to mention building the refrigerated rooms along with installing the big skylight in the dining area.

Doubt U hog waller ever qualifies for these historical recognitions, but ingest enough of U Mickey Finns to end up in the middle of the cosmos, you'll be there...

Sounds beautiful. I ran a bar that had a rosewood bar the owner designed and installed himself. Actually stopped there a few weeks ago when I was in RI. Only one problem here. You "DONT remember" the last time you were in a bar? Considering your obvious drinking problem the fact you can't remember is troubling. I wish you luck with that.
