He had the potential to be no.1, but he squandered much his potential with drugs, women, and Don King.

He's somebody who does better in "best" lists rather than "greatest" lists.

But I still tell people that he was the 1st HW to top the P4P list, he completely unified before the age of 23, and beat almost the entire top 10 Ring rated HWs from when he became champion. He was not "overrated" or 'overhyped", he just had a really short prime and self-destructed.

It's a testament to how great he was for that short period of time that he's still the most famous living fighter & the last HW to truly capture the imagination of the public.
