.Froch and Calzaghe would have sold 100,000 tickets. In contrast Wilder couldnt sell out the 18000 Barclays Center.
Froch vs. Groves record was first broken by Joshua vs. Klitschko

Yes I stand corrected .Thank you. My point stands Calzaghe and Froch would have done terrific numbers.

I never got that - I would never sit that far away from a prize fight. Hell I won't sit in the upper deck for a football game.

I use to like to buy ringside for the local ham and eggers - saw some great fights but nobody with a name. Got spoiled and just wouldn't accept anything less than the third row.

Dempsey-Tunney I from the back row, 126,000. What did they do, send back reports by telegraph?

Digression: In 1927 or '29 in response to cheap seat fan complaints the NYSAC ruled that all fighters are to wear red and purple trunks so the fans could distinguish the fighters. It may be (maybe) why announcers started introducing fighters by identifying the color of their trunks.

It is also why so many early b&w fights look as though the fighters are both wearing black trunks, the red/purple didn't lend itself well to early film stock.

Depends, Froch was not as big back then. He had just beaten Taylor, later lost to Kessler (I forget if that was the order)

Then he had no balls either. You build a legacy by fighting and beating the best. You become the best by beating the best and that's how you stay the best. That's what Lewis did when he became champ.

I know you're being facetious, but still, anytime junior.
