Rpck Newman Bowe's manager was a knob.Eddie Futch said he couldn't get Rid**** in the gym ,Newman had him doing a world tour and meeting the Pope etc.Bowe at his best would have given Lewis a very tough time imo and could have cemented a place for himself in the all time top ten ,but lacked the dedication.

I think he had heart ,he took 2 beatings from Golota,but he didn't have the self discipline once he got to the top ,he forgot what got him there.

- - Thing is what most here are losing sight off as to the premiere fight part of the OP question. Wart couldn't draw flies in his hometown at his peak.

Half the fights like Froch/Joe only meet half of the needed equation.

Dempsey vs Tunney 100%
Ali vs Frazier 100%
Tyson vs Spinks 100%
Wlad vs Povetkin in Russia 100%
AJ vs Wlad and Usyk both 100%

I've met Rock Newman and he was good to talk to but his history shows him to be all that you say he was & more. Putting Elijah Tillery in a RNC mid fight, raching into a woman's dress on stage, on & on. That said, guiding a head case like Rid**** was no easy chore, and he guided him past many pitfalls that many fighters would've wished for. Bowe build a great W-L record in spite if himself. Presumptions about Bowe's potential are very tempting, but you know, Edwin Valero, Tony Ayala, Ricky Womack, Nick Wells, Tony Tubbs, Ed Sanders, Luther McCarty, Greg Page, William Bogs, Ted Gullick, Candy Slim Jeff Merritt.....some folks just aren't lucky, and some folks you just can't reach.

AJ first broke the Froch record, twice I do believe.
