Lacked the dedication and the heart.

I think he had heart ,he took 2 beatings from Golota, but he didn't have the self discipline once he got to the top ,he forgot what got him there.

Well then he never had the balls to face Lennox for whatever reason and would rather go the big money route instead.

Half the fights like Froch/Joe only meet half of the needed equation.

          Dempsey vs Tunney 100%
          Ali vs Frazier 100%
          Tyson vs Spinks 100%
Wlad vs Povetkin in Russia 100%
AJ vs Wlad and Usyk both 100%

          For contrast-

Heinie vs anyone in his weight class 0%.
Gary Russett Jr vs anyone in his weight class 0%
That fight would have been in the UK and likely sold out a big stadium

Froch and Groves set the record in the UK with an 80,000 crowd, only recently broken by Fury v Whyte
.Froch and Calzaghe would have sold 100,000 tickets. In contrast Wilder couldnt sell out the 18000 Barclays Center.

Eddie Futch did not want the fight he thought Lennox had Bowe's number, and maybe Rid**** did too.

I've met Rock Newman and he was good to talk to but his history shows him to be all that you say he was & more. Putting Elijah Tillery in a RNC mid fight, raching into a woman's dress on stage, on & on. That said, guiding a head case like Rid**** was no easy chore, and he guided him past many pitfalls that many fighters would've wished for. Bowe build a great W-L record in spite if himself. Presumptions about Bowe's potential are very tempting, but you know, Edwin Valero, Tony Ayala, Ricky Womack, Nick Wells, Tony Tubbs, Ed Sanders, Luther McCarty, Greg Page, William Bogs, Ted Gullick, Candy Slim Jeff Merritt.....some folks just aren't lucky, and some folks you just can't reach.

Not too much down the road, we observed at Golota certainly did. Ball smashes notwithstanding.

                      - - Sadly, U timeline is bankrupt.

Froch was a highly dismissed domestic face first British fighter at the time of Joe retirement. What grade U say U was in then?

AJ first broke the Froch record, twice I do believe.

Now maybe me and Joe could sell 100K with me being an unknown exotic. I know U would plump for me because U wanna see me battered and bruised. Me and Joe about the same weight then and now, the comeback for the ages.
