Joe Cortez was horrible when Mayweather knocked out Victor Ortiz

Didn't Cortez already have a reputation? I remembered hearing that before one of Bernard Hopkins' fights, he tried to get a different referee when he found out Cortez was gonna be the ref for one of his fights.

Refereeing , although supposed to be objective, in my opinion is VERY subjective. So I was thinking about the standards of refs. Who the wrrst ref is. I nominate Laurence Cole. His negligence in the Lomachenko-Salido fight alone should have had him hauled out of the ring by a large pair of tongs, and dumped in a cesspit.
Was it deliberate, or his usual level.???

There's a story that goes . . . Dempsey was refereeing a bout when the one fighter's corner complained to ref Dempsey, three rounds in a row, that the opponent was throwing deliberate low blows. Dempsey annoyed by the constant complaining supposedly replied: "Tell your guy to throw some back, that will make him stop."

Definitely a true story we just don't know if it actually happened.

Cole is the worst active ref. Not sure if Joe Cooper is still a ref, he is as corrupt as they come. Blatant with his point deductions to fix the outcome.
