  • TRIVIA: Beating up families.

In 1936 a young Jersey Joe Walcott stopped one Phil Johnson in three rounds.

14 years later an ageless Jersey Joe Walcott stopped Harold Johnson, Joe's son in three rounds.

Anyone know of fighters who did the same?

Louis defeated both of the Baer brothers.

    Canelo beat the Cotto brothers.

In 2011 Dmitry Kudryashov first ko'd Oleksander Okhrei in 3... and 4 months later his father, Kostiantyn, in 4.

Marcin Rekowski holds wins over both Oliver McCall and son Elijah.

I suspect someone must have fought both the Brothers Gibbons, Mike and Tommy. I need to go look.

            - - Think you mean Phil's son.

Canelo age 18 made his American debut with Oscar vs a Shane Mosely cousin considered a decent prospect that he carefully outpointed.

Few years later he was forced to beat up a headbutting Shane in 12 rounds of toe to toe action, and the usual boxing crumpets will tell you Canelo has no stamina.

            Go figure boxing fans...

That's right. Chuck Wiggins fought both the Gibbons brothers. He lost twice and won once against Tommy. He beat Mike in their single fight.

Ok, if we're not restricted to just father/son, but can include brothers as well, then there are quite a few:

Jack Dilllon and Stanley Ketchel both beat the two Twin Sullivans, Mike and Jack.

Nino Benvenuti and Denny Moyer both beat Ferd and Art Hernandez,

Jimmy Carter beat Glen and Del Flanegan,

Jack McCarron beat Joe and George Chip,

Harry Greb beat both Gibbons brothers,,, and also both Chip Brothers!

Freddie Mueller beat two Petrolle brothers, Pete and Frankie (and drew with a third, Billy).

Eddie Booker, Charlie Burley, Archie Moore, Johnny "Bandit" Romero and Bobby Birch all beat the Hogue twins, Shorty and Big Boy.

... and I'm sure lots of other examples can be found, among lesser known fighters.
