Just seeing if y'all have some examples.
When Danny Edwards fought Midget Smith in 1922 Boston Midget was given a guarantee of 3k while Edwards was promised 60% of the gate after the 3K for Midget. Danny beat Midget in a one sided match, but, the gate drew so little Edwards was forced to give up 50 dollars of his own money to cover Smith's guarantee.
