Spinks had trouble with punchers....and this is based on which fights? The man was undefeated at Light-Heavy and the only puncher I can recall Spinks ever having trouble with was Tyson and in that instance Spinks was looking for a way out before the national anthem: It was intimidation not the fact that Tyson was a puncher that did Spinks in.

Carlos Monzon is a top 15 fighter, the man was a animal in the ring. Shame Tony Mundine Sr had to have him as a champion, Tony was a good fighter who was Aussie Middlweight, Crusierweight and Heavyweight Champion. He also defeated Emille Griffith.

Because this is a thread about Monzon, and I'd thought I'd mention Tony Mundine Sr, a fighter who never really get's the credit he deserves and who fought Monzon for the Middlweight Title in 1974.

Why do people just seem to judge Spinks off one fight, the Tyson fight? In his prime what a fighter. He dominated the richest filled era of LHW's.

Altought some think the era of Greb,Tunney, Loughran etc was stronger than the Spinks era. Which is a fair comment!
