It is "supposed." I thought you knew.

Again, try to learn to read pass the quotes and try to view the whole man.

Doesn't sound like you do much driving these days at all then. Sounds like it might explode if anyone starts that baby.

Actually these vehicles are incredible. They run forever lol. They can be tough for a mechanic to work on, but thats about the only downside. They have great space for tools, after 1995 the engines were supercharged...technically I have a supercharged toyota! Mine is a champ. I take it to Nevada where we have an f150. We also have an old pathfinder that runs forever

I hope that's the case for my 2005 Suzuki Foreza then too. I have barely over 100,000 miles on it so far.

              'barely over 100,000 miles'

Ya got to thank the Japanese for that one.

Before the Japanese auto invasion if an American car made it to 100K miles it was an exception. With a 12K mile or one year warranty American cars by the 1970s were real garbage.

              Enter Japanese competition.

Now we can reasonably expect 200K ( if properly maintained) and are backed by 50K to 100K mile and three to five year warranties.

                - -Had a 99 Mazda P/U I expected such, but what happens is the cheap electronics needed to pass emission requirements by the gu'mint and HP requirements by the drivers go kaputsky.

In my case, the ubiquitous warning light came on in the first 10K, and so a trip to the dealer reset with the mechanic telling me nothing was actually wrong. This happened a dozenX before a new light saying my anti skid function needed replacement. Of course Mazda by then was majority controlled by Ford.

I'd take any of the 60s GM models save Pontiac over anything sold today. With modern lubricants they could easily go 200K, and BTW, the record for mileage is a 60s Volvo sports coupe, something insane like 2 mil miles with a single owner who was a school teacher as I recall, but that was babied by Volvo at every stop along the way.

I've heard 200 to even 300k even if properly maintained or I guess willing to pay for a new transmission at some point.

Thats a sweet little ride! I love the Suzuki Samurai. they are quirky as hell, but I love the design. Suzukis are pretty solid... Lol, interesting story... for a while I decided I wanted to maybe set up a roadside emergency repair business... I mean Iearned about how it works from someone who was one of my team for our real estate inspections. It seemed like a nice set up, you had some guys on shift, they got paid per a job, you got jobs from the insurance companies... yada yada. Well one of the reasons I have a lot of experiences is, I don't mind getting into a business to learn. In this case I wanted to train as a guy doing the repairs so the franchise people (Knock Out Lock Out) paired me with this guy who was more or less, doing what I aspired to do... have a set up where he had a shift and several guys out every day.

Well... I didn't go into the business for a lot of reasons, but this guy I trained with, I am happy I met him. He was a fascinating character. Whole family of IQ geniuses... Brilliant. Funny, articulate... Lol I used to argue with him because he was a Rush Limbaugh fan... At that time Rush was not as mellow as he became...I actually liked his show before he passed, it was a great contrast to Public Radio... I would listen to them both. This guy had a Suzuki of one sort, or another... I asked him about it and he starts rapping the thing with his knuckles and giving me this s h it eating grin. You could tell the Suzuki was solid! Real solid! I have since w****d on a few Mistubishi, for example, and they sound like Tin by comparison.

So Anthony... your car choice is backed up by a very smart, capable individual. How did I know he was telling the truth? You can tell when you speak to people, how they problem solve, etc. He was a fantastic teacher because he was very logical...

Toyotas are incredible... I routinely get over 300k on my old toyotas. My dad passed and we got his Camry which we took to around 290 and I then gave it away... My second born son is a real car enthusiast so against my better judgement I often listen to his recomendations. I wanted an old van to do inspections in and he starts telling me about this Toyota Previa. I see the thing and look at him like "really?" Kid was right. They have space to spare and yet, are like parking a small car (important in the Bay Area)... Incredible power, the super charger never breaks down (unlike turbo). My wife had a Celica that went on until the floorboards rusted out... lol. Great trick question to ask a car person? what Toyota cars are supercharged? The assumption is these cars will be sports car, when one is the previa.

Ive heard that some American cars are great, a lot of it is maintenance. I also have a real soft spot for the BMW 3 and 5 series... Im talking the older cars, circa 1990's early 2000's. I had a 1970's 5 series it only had like 2005 horsepower but the torque on that thing! It was fast and drove beautifully. It got smashed after years in a dust up on Fell street in san francisco where someone panicked and stopped suddenly... My car mechanic refused to fix it saying it would not be worth it and demanded I buy his wife's Integra (thank you Jiame! for not taking advantage of my love for that car). That integra another great car BTW lol. Also had a 320 BMW that we used for years... eventually it had only 3 cylinders, we still could use it... We used to take it to catering gigs, when we got to a bad hill everyone would get out, then reconvene at the top lol.

I always buy my cars at auction. Never had a dud yet. have an F150 that is a great truck that I got for under 3k. Thats my pick up for Nevada, runs like a champ as well.
