Fantastic fighter but `feather-fisted` Loughran was good enough to beat the very best even moving up to heavyweight and beating the best in that division, his list of quality victories is endless, he was good enough to beat the Great Harry Grebb and Gene Tunney although the Tunney fight was declared a No-Contest... it was said the Tommy Loughran could fight a 15rd fight without disturbing a single hair on his head.. check out Google on him i am sure you will find lots to read.

Agreed. Loughran fought them all from middleweight up to heavyweight. He started his career battling the likes of Harry Greb and Gene Tunney on even terms, established himself as the best light heavyweight with wins over Mike McTigue, Leo Lomski, Young Stribling, Georges Carpentier, Jimmy Slattery, Pete Latzo, Mickey Walker and Jim Braddock.

Later on in his career he also had a very respectable run as a heavyweight contender with wins over Max Baer, Jack Sharkey, Johnny Risko, Ernie Schaaf, King Levinsky, Jack Gross, Tuffy Griffiths, Paulino Uzcudun, Steve ***** and Arturo Godoy.
