      Some nice comments folks.

As for fight night 4, Ali is given a higher rating, so a match up is not exactly fair.

Muhammad Ali would give him a boxing lesson. Tyson is good for the first 1 or 2 rounds, then he gases and Ali would take over. UD Ali.

Do you think Tyson would be perfect for the rope-a-dope if it had never been done before? He did have stamina problems.

Tyson usually gassed and decelarated after 6. Didn't matter in the few fights where he went the distance as he usually had a big lead on the cards anyway and his opponent usually was either ill inclined or in no condition to do anything the second half either which usually meant Tyson would pick up some late rounds on aggression alone.

Rope-a-dope is a bad tactic against Tyson (as it was against Frazier). I presume this is a prime vs. prime matchup so the rope-a-dope doesn't really come into play.

I agree with Poet on the issue of ropeadope, prime Ali just kept moving.

Now if 70s Ali tried it with Tyson.......big mistake, Tyson was too fast and accurate, I'm sure Ali wouldn't have pulled this off against prime Tyson. He'd have had to change tactics. When Ali tried going to the ropes against Norton in fight 2, Norton unloaded savage, fast, pin point combinations........the tactic didn't work with Kenny, I doubt it would with Tyson either.....Ali would have to clinch and move (as in Frazier 2).

Foreman was less accurate and he didn't really try the uppercut. Tyson is like Frazier plus speed, uppercuts and a right hand to add! I think Mike's uppercut would get between Alis blocked guard and cause him real trouble.

When did Tyson ever lost a fight before it began? He never lost it in the ring in his prime, he got frustrated which holding by tucker and smith. But against Tillis he kept on and fought well. He had supreme confidence in his ability and would never have lost before stepping into the ring.
