You also have to look at how he performed against other greats. He should have gotten the nod against Lewis in one of their fights and Valuev as well. He beat Tyson both times convincingly, avenged Moorer, and went 1-2 against Bowe who's style was Evanders kryptonite. Holmes gave him a good tussle but was beaten, Foreman etc.

Also, many greats because inconsistent towards the end of their careers. Charles and Langford are examples that jump to mind.

Agreed. Also: Moorer chronickly underrated. At his best I put him on a short list of Light heavies... and we can't go by judges IMO, but actual performance in a fight.

I do tend to rate moorer higher than most lol. But on tape, at his best he is fantastic.

Very well rounded... could box like a fox! Knock you out, and was always gonna outhustle you.

I agree with Jab that one has to look at his fights, and not the wins and losses as the judges see them

          - -For the ninnypoopsies, Field was an unlicensed bankrupt fighter in an unlicensed jurisdiction needing funds to feed his dozen kids when he had the Valuev exhibition.

And remember this also after he turned down the unwinnable Roy fight for the easier Toney and got KOed.

Niko told not to lay into him and the decision would be his. King made a ton of $ propping up a dead carcass in the ring and paid him $75k.

Reminds me how "fans" propped of Ali as a sick man taking beatings.

So you're saying it was only an exhibition? Lmao!!!!

And please offer some proof of Valuev being told not to lay into h and the decision would be his.

The press all labeled this a robbery. This isn't even arguable.

Holyfield should be the oldest world champion.
