Why did you resurrect this thread? Other than Yogi (who knows his stuff) that was a collection of some of the dumbest replies you have caused me to read.

Wait, if I put those two sentences together, you just told me you speak for all the people? Wow, boy, you do have big ones!
Alright I'm in . . . I think it's Tyson Fury. -- Anthony Joshua was the body beautiful and the guy all the kids wanted to grow-up to be (no one wants to grow up to be Tyson Fury) but then he (Joshua) was exposed by the 'mexican dough Boy' and lost much of his luster. Plus Fury is the lineal, so I say it's Fury.
P.S. I have been looking into Yogi's mention oft he ABA and IBU (circa 1910) but haven't found much, as in nada much. The original French IBU of 1913 seems to have gone belly up with the Second World War, and has no real connection to the current organization; the current ABA also doesn't seem to have any connection to the original ABA either (as far as I can discern.) I can't find any evidence of their influence on the early game. Is this guy Yogi still out there under a different screen name?

French IBU = Today's EBU
**** IBU = APPE - Associazione Pugilistica Professionistica Europea
Georgia IBU = Unterbelt claiming to be the continuation of a body that has a living continuation.
Might interest you to know the French IBU fell to *******s before the war through their own organization. It was a European body despite being HQ'd in France. More *******s joining means more *******s voting. Which is exactly what happened in the 30s and 40s until the ****'s took over.
The ****s close the IBU and form the APPE mostly to change what government the body answers to officially. The IBU was a french body that sanctioned all of europe. The APPE is a **** body for all of europe. membership wise, they were already majority *******s so the majority were still there.
After the Allies liberate France the APPE is no longer majority *******s because the Allies kinda killed them or scared them into being less *******y. The APPE closes and reforms as the IBU again, BUT, France in 1910 is doing better than post war France and the members of the IBU are in similar situations.
They don't have the money to fight the NBA for global recognition of champions.
So, they join their British pals the NSC who became the BBBoC and their American friends the NYSAC and agree to become the WBC together. The IBU would serve the WBC as the European body and handle all Euro regional boxing while their official world champions are the WBC world champions.
This is fine until 1996
1996 rolls around and some guys in Georgia decide the IBU should continue world recognition. They have **** all to do with the EBU and even less to do with the original IBU but that didn't stop them. Pretty much no one knew or gave a damn until Shannon The Cannon won a real belt and they found out he was also an IBU champion prior. The confusion isn't even as popular as the Cannon unterbelt.

If you want to read a lot I can share my notes from when I researched sanctioning bodies.

I do have one question in regards to the original IBU's affect on the game: are they the people who tried to strip Jack Johnson back in 1914, I.e. were they involved in the Johnson-Jeannette-Langford controversy? (They had just come into existence the year before [1913]) If they were, it would be an early example of yet another sanctioning body getting egg on its face after over-stepping its authority.

I believe it was the French IBU who authorized the strippage of JJOHNSON and subsequent world title between Langford and Jeannette that Sam never defended

I make prosthesis for a living. I invented a whole line for the transgender. That guy was one of my best customers and fans. He got me a patent, made a website around the products, and organized or represented me at events so I don't have to. All for free. He wouldn't take money, just free products and only a few. He died a few days ago.
I don't make masks, but, those are my ****.
He was kind of like a mentor to me. I'm not a trans, my father wasn't, I don't know any. If I didn't have one to explain what they need then I wouldn't have my first inventions and without them and those patents I don't think I would have ever had the confidence to try for more. I didn't try for my first, a fan pointed out I could have one and did the work for me. This is my way of commemorating him...I guess her.
There isn't much we can do for our dead but remember. I'll be back on Rocky in a few...cause..yeah, I agree it is weird for a boxing forum, but, I feel like these little things mean something for some reason so I do them.
Stroke.

The four month old IBU decided to strip Jack right after the Swiss had just joined.

I'm not sure about the Joe, Jack, Sam affair, I'll have to look into it. I only know that one from forum posts and articles and stuff.
