  • Is foreman afraid of holmes!

I am beginning to think that foreman was indeed dodging larry holmes. From 1978-1985, he was the dominant champ in the heavyweight division and big george never bothered to come out of retirement back then and expose larry. By the time george finds out larry has retired, he decides to finally make his comeback, kinda odd isnt it. Larry Holmes keeps saying that george intentionally tries to avoid holmes and never brings him up when talking about the all time greats. He also claims that from 87-94, george was handpicking all of his opponents and never even bothered to fight larry. They were supposed to fight in 99 and 2004 and supposedly george was the one that pulled out.

I would pick larry to beat him if it goes past the 4th round. He was the more skilled boxer and could have stopped him later in the 9th or 10th round just like he did against shavers. George is slower than tyson, so larry doesnt have to worry about the bobbing and weaving tactic to get inside his reach.

Holmes is a bitter man ain't he. He still wants to fight Foreman apparently but it would be a bit of a sad sight to see two overweight guys in their late 50's going at it. Foremans making millions off his grills and has achieved all he wants to achieve.
Foreman was retired when Holmes was dominant and during that time George never planned to box again. He came out of retirement because he needed to raise cash and he was also looking to regain the title. during the late 80's and early 90's fighting Holmes would not have made sense as Foreman only had a few more fights left in him, he wanted to preserve these fights for championship efforts only.

George is slower than tyson, so larry doesnt have to worry about the bobbing and weaving tactic to get inside his reach.
why would george bob and weave? lol George would just barge in and pound holmes.

Holmes reach is 81" and Georges is 82" Holmes is 6'3" and George is 6' 3½ so I don't see what reach has to do with it.

Lets not forget about Shavers and Quarry..he disgustingly ducked them aswell. Tyson ducked old george aswell. Article proves it!! See, its 100% true about these guys ducking eachother, because there are Articles about it. Articles are proof. Forget about interviews etc.
Foreman ducked more than one fighter according to BS's posters..

I think larry would have outboxed him and foreman knew it. Foreman handpicked guys like cooney and bert cooper, he knew larry would have beaten him.

again it's all hear say. I personaly think Foreman would have overwhelmed Holmes much in the same way Tyson did but only in a slower manner. Foremans straight right on his comeback was a marvel and Holmes never did get over that right hand vulnerabilty.
as I've said, Foreman was looking to quickly get a title shot so a fight with Holmes made no sense at that time.

42 yearold foreman Vs 42 yearold holmes
              (time when both fought holyfield)

i think holmes may have the slight advantage here because he hadn't spent 10 years out of boxing and his style would trouble foreman and i think he could keep him at range

Again, why would he duck Shavers, when he fought murderous punchers like Joe Frazier, and Ron Lyle. (Well, maybe Frazier shouldn't count since he had to fight him in order to get the title) But if he was afraid of Shavers, then shouldn't he be afraid of Lyle as well, who was a more dangerous fighter? And since he fought and destroyed Ken Norton, what reason would he have for ducking Quarry? Quarry was a ****** fighter, who almost always fought the wrong gameplan. Undoubtedly, he would try to brawl with Foreman and get layed out within three rounds.

Yeah. Evan Ali admitted to ducking George Chuvalo in 1963 after watching him fight Mike DeJohn. But he did eventually fight and beat him three years later, didn't he?

I can make the same explenations for fighters like Tyson and others, who are accused of the same things with no proof to back it up. Just some ******ed little monkey trying to get a quick bucks writing an article that came out of the back of his ass. You know what i mean. I just hate the way people are biased for Foreman.
