If i was you i'd play the first one, skip the sidequests and just play the main story, i think it will help the second one make sense.

The Terminus armor looks badass, you have preorder it to get it. Or buy Dragon Age to unlock it.

The first one was overrated to me, still decent, maybe 8/10. Combat was bloody horrible though.
