Philadelphia's Greatest Light Heavyweights (chronological order):
Philadelphia Jack O'Brien
Battling Levinsky
Tommy Loughran
Harold Johnson
Matthew Saad Muhammad
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Game Rules:
So here's the challenge, since none of these guys fought each other, you have to connect them to each other by the opponents they fought.
Example #1
Philadelphia Jack O'Brien fought Random1
Random1 fought Random2
Random2 fought Battling Levinsky
The less transitions the better, but there's a catch. You cannot transition if a Philadelphia fighter (any weight class) is not involved. Meaning in the above example, either Random1 or Random2 would have to be from Philadelphia. If you match two Philadelphia fighters together, this will also make your list better. Italicize those on your list who aren't Philadelphia fighters.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Points System:
You gain a point for every transition you make.
You lose a point for every time you match two Philadelphia fighters together.
The lower your score the better. The lowest possible score is 0.
Example #2
*Assume Random1, Random5, and Random7 are from Philadelphia
Philadelphia Jack O'Brien fought Random1 (+0)
Random1 fought Random2 (+1)
Random2 fought Battling Levinsky (+1)
Battling Levinsky fought Random3 (+1)
Random3 fought Tommy Loughran (+1)
Tommy Loughran fought Random4 (+1)
Random4 fought Random5 (+1)
Random5 fought Harold Johnson (+0)
Harold Johnson fought Random6 (+1)
Random6 fought Random7 (+1)
Random7 fought Matthew Saad Muhammad (+0)
Total Score = 8
In the event of a tie, whoever has more world class Philly fighters on their list wins.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extra Credit:
Continue from Matthew Saad Muhammad to Bernard Hopkins.
(Very tricky)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I managed to score 6 without Hopkins, and 12 with him. Let's see if you can do better.
