Exclusive: Roach, Algieri's Promoter Debate Ruslan Loss

Venetian, Las Vegas - Rick Reeno sits down with Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach to discuss a variety of topics on Saturday night.

During their discussion, the subject of Chris Algieri's victory over Ruslan Provodnikov was brought up.

Roach trains Provodnikov, who lost a close twelve round split decision to Algieri in June. On November 22nd in Macau, Algieri will challenge Roach's star pupil, Manny Pacquiao, for the WBO welterweight title.

Reeno asked Roach to break down the differences, if any, on why Algieri was given the decision over Provodnikov and why Erislandy Lara lost a close decision last month to Saul Alvarez - since many people have made comparisons between the two fights.

At that point, Roach - and Algieri's promoter Joe DeGuardia who happened to be sitting at the same table - started debating the decision, the CompuBox's numbers, and whether the doctor should have stopped the fight due to Algieri's injured eye.
