Euro News: Zeuge, Feigenbutz, Merhy-Goulamirian, Soro-Vera

Cruiserweights Ryan Merhy, 24-0 and reigning WBA Intercontinental champion, and Arsen Goulamirian, 22-0, clash for the vacant WBA regular-title March 29 at the Palais des Sports in Marseille (France). The fight is promoted by Univent headed by Sebastien Acaries. Yunier Dorticos holds the WBA super championship.

In the co-feature Michel Soro (20-1-1) and John Vera (18-0) meet with the WBA interim super welterweight title at stake.

WBC female super featherweight champion Eva Wahlstrom defends the title on March 9 in Espoo (Finland) against Melissa St Vil. Light heavyweight Niklas Rasanen and middleweight Henri Kekilainen are featured on the undercard.

The show is promoted by the newly created Team F4L - Fighters For Life - where Wahlstrom and Rasanen are among the co-owners along with matchmaker Petri Paimander.


WBA super middleweight "regular" champ Tyron Zeuge is now back in full training and will defend the title sometime in March in either Potsdam or Hamburg against Isaac Ekpo, writes BILD.

Zeuge-Ekpo II was first set for December 2 but ws postponed when Zeuge had to pull out due to illness. Zeuge, trained by World Boxing Super Series semi-finalist Juergen Braehmer, last fought in in June of last year when he beat Paul Smith.

Russian, based in Germany, welterweight Roman Belaev, 17-3, is appears on the undercard on SES´ promotion February 3 in Halle / Saale. Belaev have all of his three losses in Africa in title fights.

Former WBA interim champ Vincent Feigenbutz takes on Ryno Liebenberg on February 17 in Ludwigsburg and is now trained by Zoltan Lunka. Lunka was in his day a top class amateur and later turned pro with Universum but retired in 2001 after a loss to then WBO flyweight king Fernando Montiel.

Zeuge another Sauerland paper belt holder like Braehmer and others. He’ll continue defending against nobodies and stay away from anyone in the top 10 or with a pulse

Soro/Vera and Merhy/Goulamirian are good fights. Feigenbutz/Liebenberg should be competitive. Zeuge must be the worst champ out there, draws with a Euro level fighter then barely beats him in the rematch to win the belt. Then is gifted a win…
