Estrada vs. Nietes Clash For September 24 Still Not Finalized

By Ronnie Nathanielsz

The planned title fight between WBO junior flyweight champion Donnie Nietes and WBO/WBA flyweight champion Juan Francisco Estrada at the StubHub Center in Carson City, California on September 24 is not a done deal as of yet.

ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer who motored to Los Angeles to meet with Zanfer Promotions Fernando Beltran, informed Standard "We were supposed to meet with Zanfer in LA, on July 13, but it didn't happen.”

This is rather typical of Zanfer from past experiences of The Standard.

Aldeguer said “The Nietes-Estrada is still 50-50 as we have not discussed the details yet and we still need to wait for an official word from the Estrada camp. There could still be a possibility that it could be Moises Fuentes or another opponent. We hope to hear from Zanfer in the next few days."

Fuentes is the mandatory challenger but Zanfer had tentatively agreed to allowing Estrada, who is also his fighter, to face Nietes who wants to move up in weight.

Nietes is a beast. I don't blame Team Estrada for avoiding this fight. Estrada's been out nearly a year and his hand still looks jacked up. 1:05

Ronnie is a piece of shyt who makes excuses for filipino fighters when they loose just like he will when nietes gets his azz kicked.
