Erik Morales Targeting a Four Fight Plan For 2012

By Salvador Rodriguez

WBC junior welterweight champion Erik Morales (52-7, 36KOs) is planning to have a full schedule in 2012. "El Terrible" is not looking to waste any time this year. After defending his title against undefeated Danny Garcia (22-0, 14KOs) on March 24th in Houston - the Mexican veteran will look to fight three more times, with two of those contests being staged on Mexican soil.

Morales would like to fight again in June, then in September and then perhaps in December.

"We did very good work last year, but this year we have to do better. We couldn't fight in January but if things go well we will fight in March, June, September and November or December. That's the plan," said Morales.

"We are working well to give a good fight on March 24. I sincerely believe that my experience should give me the victory over Garcia, and then we'll see [what's next]. I would like to fight in June, then September and I'd like to get important dates like Oct. 12 or Nov. 20."
The problem I have with Morales is that he is no longer "El Terrible"but "El Slomobile". He should retire whilst he still has the wits to do so.. I hate to see fighters beaten up to satisfy a mob.
Man…
