Welterweight prospect Dusty Hernandez-Harrison will be returning May 24 on the undercard to the Corpus Christi, Texas, card featuring a main event bout between heavyweights Bryant Jennings and Mike Perez, according to Hernandez-Harrison, who spoke to BoxingScene.com late last week.
No opponent has been announced yet.
Jennings-Perez is part of an HBO broadcast that will also feature a middleweight bout between Daniel Geale and Matthew Macklin.
Hernandez-Harrison last fought in March on ESPN2’s “Friday Night Fights.” He got knocked down early by Michael Balasi but scored two knockdowns of his own en route to a six-round unanimous decision.
This will be the third fight of 2014 for the 19-year-old from Washington, D.C. He’ll turn 20 three days before the bout.
“I just want to win, and then after this, I definitely want to come back to D.C.,” Hernandez-Harrison said.
His last bout in his hometown was in May 2013. Since then, he’s fought six times, including twice in preliminary bouts before HBO broadcasts featuring Gennady Golovkin.
He is 21-0 with 11 knockouts.
