Dubois Ready To Rise: I Want To Get To The Top of The Division!

Just over a year ago, Daniel Dubois turned professional with Frank Warren after a handful of senior amateur bouts.

Now, 20-years-old, the 6-0 Greenwich giant says he's accustomed to life as a pro.

"It's getting a bit of a formality really. But I'm learning, growing and just getting better," he said on Bunce's Boxing Hour. "I never go into the ring overconfident. I train very hard, in my training I motivate myself and get ready. Anything can happen in a fight, so I'm always ready."

On February 10th, he takes on Kent's DL Jones, who is unbeaten in nine fights. Looking forward, the domestic scene at Heavyweight is thriving with a number of interesting match-ups to be made in the future.

Stablemate Nathan Gorman (11-0, 9 KOs) is a potential opponent down the line, as is Olympic silver medallist Joe Joyce who has had one professional bout.

"It's a very lucrative division," Dubois added. "I definitely want to be climbing up the ranks and getting to the top of the division."

In his last fight, Dubois dispatched of Dorian Darch in two rounds. Asked if he wants opponents who can take him longer, he replied: "Yeah, if they can. Definitely. I definitely want to test myself and see how good I am in a real fight."

Dubois also discussed his younger sister Caroline, who is a promising amateur: "She's done everything! She's eclipsed me, she's won more than me and won more than most amateurs have. She's heading for the stars!"

This is the guy who flattened AJ in sparring. He's definitely got a huge future ahead of him in the HW division.
