According to sources in Argentina, there is some discussions that Diego Chaves' handlers are interested in an IBF final eliminator against undefeated Sadam Ali (22-0, 13KOs).
Chaves (23-2-1, 19KOs) has been out of the ring since a twelve round split draw with two-division champion Timothy Bradley last December.
Diego Chaves is ranked at #6 by the IBF and Sadam Ali is sitting at #7. The IBF is looking over it's list to call an eliminator, between the two highest ranked available challengers, to set the next opponent in line for IBF champion Kell Brook.
Shawn Porter, ranked at 5, faces Adrien Broner on June 20. Frankie Gavin, who sits at 4, is already facing Brook on May 30th. Amir Khan, ranked at 3, turned down the chance to take part in an IBF eliminator and faces Chris Algieri on May 29th. The 1 and 2 positions in the IBF's 147 rankings remain vacant.
Ali was last in action on April 25th, when he decisioned Francisco Santana over ten rounds of action in New York's Madison Square Garden. Last year Ali knocked out Chaves' countryman Luis Carlos Abregu.
