Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya is really bothered with the fact that Amir Khan (29-3, 19KOs) wasted his time sitting on the sidelines with the belief that he was going to receive a shot at WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26KOs).

Khan thought he was going land Mayweather this past May, and he was so sure of the fight that he canceled a planned fight with Alexander for last December. Instead, Mayweather fought Maidana. Then Khan thought he was going to get Mayweather in the fall and once again Mayweather decided to fight Maidana. Khan faces Alexander on Saturday night in Las Vegas. If he wins, De La Hoya will try to get him Mayweather.

“It really rubs me the wrong way that Amir has been promised fighting the likes of Mayweather and it hasn’t happened yet. He is at the perfect moment of his career. And one thing is for sure: 2015 is going to be his year," De La Hoya said.

"One thing for sure is that as Amir Khan's promoter, I'm going to push as hard as I can to get that Mayweather fight, because that's what he deserves."
