Oscar De La Hoya, president of Golden Boy Promotions, said there is no interest in staging a fight, in the near future, between Mexican superstars Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (36-0, 26KOs) and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (42-0, 30KOs). De La Hoya says the two boxers are competing in different weight divisions and it's too early in their careers to stage such a fight. In the future, De La Hoya will explore the fight.
"Everybody talks about that fight, Chavez and Canelo, but they are at different weights and right now it can't happen. Maybe in the future, but for now we are focused on the career of Saul Alvarez and getting him good fights. I can say that for the next two to three fights, Chavez is not in the plan of Canelo," De La Hoya said.
