StubHub Center, Carson, California - Vyacheslav Shabranskyy (9-0, 7KOs) dominated Michael Gbenga (19-15, 19KOs) over six rounds for a unanimous decision. Gbenga went down in the first and got beat up while doing everything possible to survive until the end. The scores were 60-52, 59-53 and 60-52.
In his first fight since suffering back to back knockout defeats to Adonis Stevenson and Andre Ward, former champion Chad Dawson (32-3, 18KOs) demolished George Blades (23-6, 16KOs), scoring two knockdowns for a first round knockout.
In a battle of heavyweight Olympians, Dominic Breazeale (11-0, 9KOs) beat down Devin Vargas (18-4, 7KOs) for a third round stopage. Vargas was down once in the contest and took a lot of punishment before the referee had seen enough and waved things off during the third.
Lightweight contender Sharif Bogere (24-1, 17KOs) stopped Miguel Zamudio (28-5, 16KOs) after three rounds of action. Zamudio took a beating until the doctor stopped the match before the start of the fourth.
Heavyweight prospect Michael Hunter (5-0, 3KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Jerry Forrest (7-2, 6KOs)
Fabian Maidana (1-0), the younger brother of Marcos Maidana and also trained by Robert Garcia, made his welterweight pro debut with a four round unanimous decision over Eddie Diz (0-1). The scores were 40-36, 39-37, 40-36.
In a junior middleweight contest, prospect Michael Hernandez (2-0) easily dominated Dante Spinks (0-2) over four rounds to win a unanimous decision. All three judges had it scored 40-36. Hernandez was landing all fight, as the overmatched Spinks took damage with very little offered in return.
